iRacing.com Sponsors Stars of Karting "Dash for Cash": Young Karters Use Sim to Sample Driving Racecars

BEDFORD, MA (28 September 2007) iRacing.com Motorsport Simulations will bring its ground-breaking motorsports simulation software to young kart racers who aim to make the transition to racing cars. It was announced jointly by Scott McKee, vice president of marketing at iRacing.com, and Jeff Swoboda, director of marketing and PR for Stars of Karting, that iRacing.com will sponsor the IROC-style "Dash for Cash" at the Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by IndyCar Series Desert MINI National Finals in Las Vegas, Nevada, October 1921.

"Formula One drivers and teams know the value of simulation in preparation for competition," McKee said. "Aspiring racers can never get enough seat time, and most people will never have access to the simulation studios at McLaren or Ferrari. We're pleased to have the chance to meet this new generation of racers, some of whom will become the next generation of American and international champions. And we're confident that the Stars of Karting drivers will find our simulation an invaluable tool as they prepare to make the jump from karts to cars."

iRacing.com will be on site for all three days of the event, offering Stars of Karting racers a chance to test drive the company's driver development software. The company's partner roster includes more than 60 major race tracks, among them several premier karting facilities.

The five lap "iRacing.com Dash for Cash" race will see the top two qualifiers from ICC, PCH Motorsports ICA and the Spec Racer divisions compete against one another in identically prepared Easykart machines. After qualifying, these six drivers will randomly draw for karts and starting positions before battling on track for the cash award.

"iRacing.com is a high-quality, innovative company that is providing an important tool for driver development." said Jeff Swoboda. "We are very happy that they have chosen to be a key part of our Finals weekend in Las Vegas. All of our competitors should take the time to stop by and check out their simulation, it's truly a cut above anything we've seen before."
